Description

A UK prison needed the control systems on their three coal fired boilers to be upgraded as the reliability of the existing systems had diminished.

New schematics were designed with components installed and wired on new backplates to fit in to the existing enclosures. The majority of the field wiring was to remain in situ, landing in the terminals on the new backplate. A Siemens S7 1200 PLC was used to replace the fintionality previously provided by a variety of timers and controllers. A HMI was provided to control and visualise the system, with a number of push buttons and lights for quick operation and notification of faults.

TM Controls provided the full design, build, installation, programming and commissioning of the control system and also of a number of instruments that needed to be updated.
